When was the last time you called or visited your Presbyterian Resource Center?
There are 180 Presbyterian Resource Centers across the denomination offering a wide range of resources for your use. You can check out resources for all aspects of your ministry, from preschool classes to your new members' groups, officer training, spirituality, worship resources, mission resources, video series, vacation Bible school, Bible study at all levels, Presbyterianism, church history and the future of the church, how-tos and what-fors and why-nots.
Martha Huntley is one of the many staff persons (both volunteer and paid staff) who serve the denomination as a Resource Center director. This vital ministry circulates more than 500 resources per month. "Our real resource in the church," she says, "is God! God's power, God's purposes, God's presence. But we all need tools to work with. Our Presbyterian Resource Center is dedicated to provide tools for our congregations and members to help in enhancing and extending ministry and mission. This is a great job!"
The Presbyterian Resource Center of the Presbytery of Tampa Bay is used by all 79 churches in the presbytery in the course of a year. It is also used by 10 to 15 other groups, congregations, individuals, or presbyteries each month. Well over 5,000 resources a year are circulated. Martha Huntley often researches and consults for churches and is proud of her center's usage and welcoming atmosphere. Most significant is the support given by her presbytery for this important ministry.
Like many of our Presbyterian Resource Centers, the one in St. Petersburg, Florida, Presbytery of Tampa Bay, caters to families and individuals as well as groups and congregations.
Prayer
God of power, purpose, and presence, we pray for your gracious blessings on these resource centers as they strive to be places of learning and resources for your people. May they share your word and always be welcoming. In the name of the great teacher and resource leader, Jesus, in whose name we serve and pray. Amen.
