The Milwaukee Presbytery is home to 41 worshipping communities across ten counties in Southeast Wisconsin. We are rural, urban, tiny, large and everything in between. We are a presbytery built from the faith and commitment of immigrants, pioneers, and indigenous peoples. We were in the forefront for women's ordination, ordaining the first female elder, deacon, and moderator of the General Assembly. We're the home of Carroll University and Presbyterian Homes and Services Wisconsin. We partner with Habitat for Humanity, the Wisconsin Council of Churches, Milwaukee Interfaith, Common Ground, and United Church Camps Inc. We're a Matthew 25 presbytery, and we value authentic relationships, risk taking for the sake of the gospel, and collaborative leadership. AND we're excited to welcome you as hosts of the 227th General Assembly!
WELCOME TO MILWAUKEE
The Assembly will be held at the Baird Center. The newly expanded and updated convention center is 1.3 million square feet and "introduced thoughtful attention to sustainability with a water retention system, solar roof panels, and bird-friendly fritted glass; contemporary amenities including dedicated quiet rooms, all-gender restrooms, Mamava pods, sensory rooms and bags and KultureCity certification." Adjacent to Milwaukee's Theatre District, five blocks from the Harley Davidson Museum, 1.1 miles from the Art Museum on Lake Michigan, surrounded by restaurants, hotels and coffee shops, the Baird Center is a fantastic location to engage the work of the Assembly and experience some of the best of the city.
