WHO MAY APPLY Members of the Milwaukee Presbytery including: Ministers of the Word and Sacrament, elders, deacons, Christian educators, and congregation members engaged in the ministry of the congregation.
USE OF FUNDS Continuing education, seminars, book studies, conferences, and training opportunities related to congregational or ministry development.
APPLICATION MUST INCLUDE
The name, date, and location of the event or program for which assistance is requested;
The anticipated benefits of the event or program to the applicant, to the applicant’s current ministry setting, and/or to the Presbytery of Milwaukee;
The amount requested; the total amount of the event (this might include fees, travel, room and board, etc.); the amount contributed by the applicant’s congregation or ministry setting (this would include a pastor’s continuing education budget); and expected personal contribution.
Include a copy of a program brochure, website link, or other program description.
GRANT TERMS AND CONDITIONS Applications must be submitted to the Commission on Congregational Vitality prior to participating in the event or program. An applicant may receive only one award per every other calendar year. The amount of the award is at the discretion of the commission up to $500 per individual or $1500 per congregation. There is no assurance that any particular request will be granted, either in whole or in part.
Unless otherwise agreed with the applicant, presbytery will pay funds under this policy only upon the applicant’s submission of documentation satisfactory to the Commission on Congregational Vitality, such as receipts and cancelled checks.
