Vital Congregations with Rev. Dr. Kathryn Threadgill
Vital Congregations with Rev. Dr. Kathryn Threadgill, Associate for Vital Congregations, Presbyterian Mission Agency Monday, October 28, 2019 Location: Living Hope Presbyterian Church
Workshop with Pastors noon-4 (lunch provided) The PC(USA)Vital Congregations Revitalization initiative began in 2018 with five presbyteries. As lead organizer and director for the program, Dr. Threadgill will share what she’s learned so far as well as help us discern if we’d like to participate as a presbytery (ie: are there congregations that would like to participate).
Workshop with congregational leaders 6-8PM (heavy hors d’oeuvres available at 5:30) Dr. Threadgill will share the marks of vitality in an interactive workshop as well as reflect how congregations might engage the marks in their own settings.
Threadgill says one of the pastors at a rural church told her this revitalization initiative would help them do their job of “bringing water from the well to their churches, for people to take and drink from.” As they get enough to drink, she says excitement, trust and being part of the work of leading a church from anxiety and fear to a journey of hope will follow.
